How to Wash Your Woven Throw Blanket (Without Ruining It)

100% cotton woven throw blankets are easy to wash — but a few small mistakes can shrink the fibres, fade the pattern, or distort the weave. Here's exactly how to care for your Logic & Linen jacquard woven blanket so it looks great for years.

Machine Washing

Yes, your woven throw blanket is machine washable. Use these settings:

• Water temperature: Cold or cool. Hot water shrinks cotton and can loosen the weave over time.
• Cycle: Gentle or delicate. The regular spin cycle puts unnecessary stress on woven fibres.
• Detergent: Mild liquid detergent. Avoid detergents with bleach agents, optical brighteners, or heavy enzymes — these degrade colour in woven fabrics faster than regular wear.
• Load: Wash alone or with similar items. Avoid washing with anything that has zippers or hardware that can snag the weave.

Drying

• Tumble dry low: Low heat only. High heat will shrink the cotton and can distort the jacquard pattern.
• Air dry: Even better. Lay flat on a clean surface or hang over a rail — not clothespins at a single point, which creates stress marks.
• Remove promptly: Don't leave a damp blanket bunched in the dryer. Shake it out and spread it evenly while it dries.

Dealing with Wrinkles

If your blanket comes out of the wash with creases, iron it on a medium-low cotton setting while it's still slightly damp. Use a pressing cloth if you're concerned about the fibres. A clothes steamer also works well and is gentler on the weave.

First Wash
